About Us The Ukrainian Federation of America is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization founded in 1991 and registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in Ukraine. The activities and programs of the Federation are initiated, developed and implemented by devoted volunteers who work closely with local, domestic and international government agencies and non-government organizations for the benefit of our community. Among its many educational accomplishments, the Federation developed and coordinated an MBA Internship Program for international students, actively participated in the development of the Lviv Institute of Management, a private business school in Western Ukraine, established a Human Resources Education Program in Ukraine to assist business professionals, and facilitated exchange programs for physicians, educators and artists. The Federation has been involved in the translation, publication and distribution of over 30 medical and business books and has shipped and distributed over 60,000 textbooks, dictionaries, periodicals and educational materials to schools and libraries throughout Ukraine. The Federation has shipped and airlifted millions of dollars worth of medical supplies, equipment and medicines to physicians, hospitals and medical facilities. In times of crises, our volunteers have mobilized emergency relief efforts. In addition to our ongoing activities, during the past year the Federation has prepared a Community Information and Resource Manual for seniors and recent immigrants, started program to support children in Ukraine suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, hosted a visit to the USA by the Ukrainian Greenhouse Association, and has taken on a program to supply computers to Ukraine that was formerly operated by the Kobzar Society. We have many noteworthy accomplishments. We are especially proud of our programs that benefit children. Throughout the years, we have arranged for the treatment of children requiring specialized medical care at no cost to the patient. We are currently developing programs in the areas of preventive medicine, family clinics and rural medicine clinics. (Updated 5/4/2009)
