Health Care Program
The UFA Health Care committee focuses of improving the quality of health care in Ukraine
and assisting in the treatment of ill patients from Ukraine who require hospitalization and special medical
procedures that are available for them only in the United States. The committee assists in the distribution of
pharmaceuticals and medical equipment from the United States to carefully selected health care facilities in
Ukraine, and in the training of health care providers in the use of new equipment. It has also helped quite
a few patients from Ukraine with special medical needs, particularly young children, to receive treatment in
the US and to be accompanied by parents and/or close family members. The UFA Health Care Committee traces
its activities on behalf of public health in Ukraine to the pioneering project in which the huge
transport plane Mria was loaded at Philadelphia International Airport with donated medicines and medical
equipment for use by health providers in Ukraine.
Ongoing projects include:

the First Lady Kateryna Yushchenko, the International Fund Ukraine 3000, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
2. Emergency health care for visitors from Ukraine to the the USA.
3. Cooperation with Ukrainian Embassy in Washington DC for medication requests and health care
