• UFA co-hosted the community meeting with Ukrainian Parliament members and popular musician Ruslana Lezhychko in the Washington Area. • 10th anniversary Congressional Ukrainian Caucus. • Ongoing dialog with the American Jewish Committee on issues of concern to both communities. • Vera M. The Ukrainian Federation of America consults with and briefs elected officials at local, state and federal
levels on community issues and Ukraine. We initiate forums, conferences and meetings on cultural, social
and educational topics. The Federation is a sponsor of The Action Ukraine Report, a digest of the latest news
about Ukrainian issues and Ukraine. UFA meets with high-level diplomats from Ukraine, engages in discussions,
and presents memoranda to the government officials. Specific achievements and projects are as follows:
• The Ukrainian Federation of America participated in the leadership of the Jackson-Vannic
Graduation Coalition, to relieve cold-war trade restrictions placed upon Ukraine by the US Congress.
The Graduation Coalition morphed into the Coalition for a Secure and Democratic Ukraine.
