Community Information and Resource Manual

The Community Information and Resource Manual contains useful information for seniors, immigrants, and others. Its 40-plus pages are filled with all sorts of useful information: emergency numbers in Philadelphia and surrounding counties, contact information for various agencies of federal state and local governments, the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington and the four consulates in the US, and contacts related to immigration and naturalization, as well as helpful definitions and explanations of rules and procedures. Other pages focus on social services for seniors, learning English for immigrants and other needs. There is also a directory of Ukrainian-American organizations and institutions and listings for Ukrainian Catholic, Orthodox and Baptist churches. The last pages provide a glossary of useful terms and links to various websites of interest to Ukrainians in America.

The manual was prepared by a team of Ukrainian Federation of America members and officers: Vera M. Andryczyk, Christine Perfecky, Mary Tatunchak, Roksolana Harasymowych, Taras Lewyckyj, Walter Maruschak, and Daria Lissy. A student intern from Temple University, Ms Nan Sato, provided research and organizational assistance. Support for the manual came from a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The manual is free. To obtain a copy send a letter to the Ukrainian Federation of America office or send an e-mail to info@UFofA.org.
